Laser Hair Removal in Raleigh, NC

Powered by the GentleMax Pro Laser

Looking for permanent laser hair removal in Raleigh? Our clinic uses the GentleMax Pro laser — one of the most advanced systems available — to deliver safe, effective results for all skin types.

Laser hair removal is a noninvasive treatment that uses concentrated light to target hair follicles beneath the skin. The laser energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair shaft, generating heat that damages the follicle and inhibits future hair growth. Over a series of sessions, this leads to smoother, longer-lasting results than shaving or waxing.

The GentleMax Pro combines two laser wavelengths in one system, allowing us to customize treatment for your skin tone and hair type — making it a safe option for a wider range of patients than older laser technologies.

Why Choose Laser Hair Removal in Raleigh?

Laser hair removal is a popular choice for removing unwanted hair from the face, legs, arms, underarms, bikini line, and more. Here's what makes it effective:

Precision
The laser selectively targets dark, coarse hairs while leaving surrounding skin undamaged — making it more precise than shaving or waxing.

Speed
Each laser pulse takes a fraction of a second and can treat multiple hairs at once, covering an area roughly the size of a quarter every second. Small areas like the upper lip can be treated in under a minute, while larger areas like the back or legs may take up to an hour.

Predictable, Lasting Results
Most patients see permanent hair reduction after an average of three to seven sessions.

How Many Laser Hair Removal Treatments Will I Need?

We typically recommend a package of six treatments per treatment area. Sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart, and most patients begin to notice a significant reduction in hair density after 2–3 treatments.

How to Prepare for your Laser Hair Removal Treatment

If you're planning laser hair removal in Raleigh, a little preparation goes a long way toward getting the best results.

Avoid plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. The laser targets hair at the root, and these methods temporarily remove the root — reducing what the laser has to work with.

Stay out of the sun for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and increases the risk of complications afterward, so sunscreen and sun avoidance are essential both before and after your sessions.

What to Expect: Treatment and Recovery

During Your Treatment

Before your session begins, the treatment area is shaved. Your technician then adjusts the laser settings based on your hair color, thickness, and location, as well as your skin tone.

A test pulse is applied first, and the area is monitored for several minutes to confirm the settings are effective and to check for any adverse reaction. Once your technician is confident the settings are right, treatment begins on the full area.

Aftercare Instructions

  • Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunblock before and after every treatment.

  • Avoid all tanning — including sun exposure, tanning beds, and spray tans — for 2–3 weeks before your session.

  • Skip exfoliating products like Retin-A, alpha/beta hydroxy acids, toners, or other irritating creams for one week before treatment.

  • Let your laser specialist know about any new prescription medications you're taking between sessions.

  •

Following these steps helps ensure safe, effective results from your laser hair removal sessions.
