Nuderma Med Spa Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal at Nuderma Health & Med Spa is a medical procedure that uses concentrated beams of light to remove unwanted tattoos from the skin. The laser technology works by breaking down the ink particles in the tattoo into smaller fragments, which are then gradually eliminated by the body's natural processes.

Nuderma Health & Med Spa uses a Picoway laser.  The laser emits high-intensity light pulses in very short durations. Different wavelengths of laser light are used to target specific ink colors. The laser energy is absorbed by the tattoo ink, causing it to heat up and shatter into tiny fragments. Black ink tends to be the easiest to remove, while other colors may require specific laser wavelengths.

How Many Laser Tattoo Treatments Will I Need?

Tattoo removal is typically not completed in a single session. Most tattoos require multiple treatments spaced several weeks apart to allow the body to clear away the shattered ink particles. The number of sessions needed depends on various factors, including the tattoo's size, age, colors, and the individual's skin type

Recovery from Laser Tattoo Removal

The nice thing about Picoway tattoo removal is that your downtime is limited.  Immediately following treatment, the area treated will have  moderate redness and mild swelling. You may develop some crusting, usually within 24-48 hours. We recommend applying moisturizing ointment for 2-4 days after and a dressing the tattoo with a non-stick dressing.  The tattoo itself can be washed with a gentle cleanser the day after treatment and then daily thereafter.

How Do I Prepare for Laser Tattoo Removal?

The most important thing is limiting sun exposure to the tattoo being treated.  If you are too dark from tanning, you will not have as effective a treatment and may increase the risk of skin blistering. Therefore, we recommend covering the area for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.  If the tattoo is in an area that Retinols or Rentin-A are applied this should be stopped 1 week prior.

Also, tell the technician if you are on any new prescriptions or antibiotics.   In some cases medications may make you more sensitive to lasers.  Additionally, the area should be clean shaven the day before the treatment.
