VI Peel
Curious about the VI Peel™? Here’s what you should know!
Looking for a solution to your skin imperfections? Whether you are dealing with wrinkles, blemishes, scars, sun damage and sun spots, or uneven skin tone, a VI Peel™ may be the solution. Nuderma Health & Med Spa is proud to offer the VI Peel™, a chemical peel specifically designed for medical use, to the residents of Raleigh and surrounding areas in North Carolina. Its unique blend of ingredients is perfect regardless of your skin type.
The VI Peel™ works by stripping dead skin layers away. The new skin cells provide you with a healthy and youthful glow! You’ll notice a sensational difference in the look of your skin!
What are the benefits of a VI Peel™?
All procedures have unique benefits and the VI Peel™ is no exception. If you’re prone acne flare-ups, you may notice that your acne scars are less visible. Some patients no longer suffer from breakouts.
The primary benefits, however, are improved texture and tone of your skin. If your skin appeared dull and dry before your VI Peel™ treatment, you’ll likely notice that your skin seems to have a youthful glow.
For patients with hyper-pigmentation, including melasma, you may notice that your skin has a more even tone. Patients with age spots or freckles are often surprised and pleased when they notice fewer spots, and, in some cases, no spots.
As we age, the skin in our face tends to sag. This is because collagen, an important protein that provides structure support, is reduced. When you undergo a VI Peel™, you may notice firmer, smoother skin. This particular treatment has been shown to stimulate the body’s production of collagen.
Another distinct benefit of the VI Peel™ is that you can choose to incorporate it with other treatments. That’s right – you are not limited in your facial care procedures with the VI Peel™. It is important for you to think about other considerations.
Are you a good candidate for VI Peel™?
One of the best things about the VI Peel™ is that most people are good candidates. If you’re looking for better skin, want fewer scars, or just want to have skin that looks younger, you’re likely eligible. The VI Peel™ is approved for skin tones of all types. Because the VI Peel™ was initially designed as a treatment for acne and its related scars, this procedure is approved for individuals’ 12 years of age and older. The VI Peel™ is also effective for ethnic groups that may not have always experienced success with other chemical treatments.
When it comes to a successful treatment of VI Peel™, it is important that you are in good health. You must also be willing to comply with post procedure instructions. If you are currently pregnant, on any type of medication (including over the counter), recently had another medical procedure, or diagnosed with a skin problem.
What happens during a VI Peel™?
A VI Peel™ is extremely convenient. It is performed in our office, and there is no pre-treatment required. Your skin will be cleaned by our staff. Next, the VI Peel™ will be applied. You may experience a warming sensation during the process. However, it should subside quite fast. The VI Peel™ only takes around 30 minutes, but it must stay on your skin for five hours.
What is the VI Peel™ recovery like?
Many peels last two to three days. For those, you will manage them with the post-peel kit. However, directly after your procedure, you may return to your daily routine. During the next week or two, you shouldn’t use exfoliating products on your skin, including retinol and glycolic acid based products. You should also avoid prolonged or direct sun exposure. Finally, make sure that you don’t touch your face or pull on your skin as it is peeling. The VI Peel™ is designed to peel away naturally.
After the peeling process, you’ll notice an appreciable amount of improvement in the way that your skin both looks and feels. During the next month to six weeks, you’ll continue to notice an improvement in your skin’s look and feel. Overall, it will appear healthier and brighter. Most patients report skin that has fewer acne problems is smoother and appears younger and firmer looking.
